On Wednesday, the Bethel Office of the Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team, or WAANT, arrested Katherine Morgan of Bethel after an extended investigation revealed she was involved in the sale and distribution of heroin in Bethel. They arrested 26-year-old Jonathan Serrano last week on charges related to an earlier heroin investigation.

Morgan is charged with misconduct involving a controlled substance in the second and fourth degree and tampering with physical evidence.

The 25-year-old was remanded to the Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center, or YKCC, and arraigned Thursday at the Bethel Court.

Last Thursday, May 21st, the WAANT Team arrested Serrano, also of Bethel, on an arrest warrant.

The warrant was related to an earlier investigation regarding heroin sales in Bethel. He’s charged with manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance and possessing a controlled substance.

Serrano was remanded to YKCC and arraigned on the 22nd.
