New Radio Station Broadcasts in Bethel

by Ben Matheson on November 3, 2014

Bethel residents can hear a new radio station on the FM dial. KEDI at 98.3 has been testing and tweaking its signal in recent weeks and is preparing for a springtime launch.

Steve Strait of Anchorage-based Strait Media says the commercial FM station will broadcast daily statewide newscasts, classic country, and talk radio. There will be a studio in Bethel.

Strait says he hopes to build on a partnership with a sister station, K-R-U-P in Dillingham to better connect the Kuskokwim and Bristol Bay regions.

Strait says the call letters K-E-D-I were chosen to honor the late Chief Eddie Hoffman.
