On Wednesday afternoon, the Bethel Fire Department extinguished a house fire in City Subdivision.
Smoke was coming from the back of the house.

Firefighters escorted a woman out of the residence and later placed her in an ambulance.
Bethel Fire Chief Bill Howell says the investigation is still underway.
“We were able to quickly extinguish a small fire in the home. The fire cause is still under investigation. We haven’t ruled out anything at this moment, as far as whether it was intentional or accidental,” Howell said.
Howell says they believe alcohol may have been a factor.
A firetruck, ambulance and approximately 10 firefighters were on the scene.
The investigation is ongoing and no charges have been filed.
Howell could not be reached for further comment on this story.
