Alaska state troopers arrested an Aniak man on burglary and theft charges after he allegedly broke in and damaged a home in the village.

The incident allegedly happened on August 2 but troopers just released the information this week.

They say 58-year-old John Simeon twice moved into a place that wasn’t his own. He was told to move out by Troopers but then broke in again. He allegedly unscrewed the door to get inside and destroyed the owner’s personal belongings and part of the building. Damages total over $4,000.

Simeon was arrested and brought to the state jail in Bethel on burglary in the first degree as well as theft and trespassing charges.
