WAANT Makes Arrests For Importing Drugs And Alcohol

According to the Alaska State Troopers, the Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team in Bethel arrested an individual on Friday last week on importation charges.

According to the Alaska State Troopers, the WAANT team responded to a tip and contacted thirty-year old Willie Attie.

Troopers say they seized marijuana and alcohol from Attie and charged him with felony importation and remanded him at the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center.

The Western Alaska Alcohol and Narcotics Team also arrested a woman who was reportedly attempting to transport alcohol into the Lower Yukon village of Marshall.

According to the Alaska State Troopers, last week on Friday, the WAANT team contacted twenty-five year old Grace Jimmy at a local airline company in Bethel.

They seized three bottles of alcohol. Jimmy was charged with misdemeanor Alcohol Importation and remanded at the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Center.
